Happy Shopping Day!

I hope everyone had a marvelous Thanksgiving! I had a very relaxing and fun day.

It turns out that Ron had the day free as well, but since I'd been working so hard on putting together the Thanksgiving service and the Advent readers, I didn't even have time to think about cooking until the day before. But there were only two of us, and I don't like turkey or yams or most of the other food I'd be making, so a big traditional dinner seemed like a bit of a waste of food. Also, since the grocery strike has been getting more aggressive and now they've stopped the truck deliveries, it would have been near impossible to find a turkey and vegetables the day before Thanksgiving! I said I'd be happy to make some else - Italian food or seafood or something - but since Ron had his heart set on turkey and all the fixin's, we decided to go out to eat.

We spent most of the day walking around Balboa; it was such a beautiful day, and there were a few people out but for the most part the streets were empty. I love that part about Thanksgiving...from noon until 6:00, it feels like the whole city belongs to you.

Anyway, we ended up eating a very nice Thanksgiving dinner out, and one of the best things of all was walking away from the restaurant and not having to spend two hours cleaning up! We even had enough leftovers for lunch today.

I spent the evening cleaning out my videos, DVDs, and CDs. I have a ton of things to take to Goodwill now! I've been thinking about having a yard sale; it's kind of a pain, but I'm clearing out so many things, I wonder if it would be worth it. Hmm. I'd have to borrow my parents' yard...and let THEM deal with the people showing up at 9:00 the night before asking for a preview!

If you're out shopping today, yikes! Good luck and don't forget to stop occasionally (or frequently, as needed) for a Starbucks break!

I'm not sure you want to dump all that stuff at your parents place--they might end up giving you a lump of coal Christmas! ;)

Starbucks breaks are a good idea. But what about Natalie breaks, Seattle's Best breaks, and gelato breaks at the Bellagio?

That's what I thought!!
