Finally, An Update

It's been a while since I've updated (as Mike so nicely pointed out), but yes, thank you, I'm fine. I haven't fallen into the orchestra pit or gotten lost at the beach or been trapped in a time warp at work. And no, Cosette didn't take my computer hostage, though I'm home so infrequently lately I'm sure she'd rather I play with her instead of sit at my desk.

I did get into a car accident. More than two weeks ago, in fact, and my car still isn't fixed. ("We get you back on the road"...yeahhhh, sure...and when would that be??) Plus I'm not allowed to wash it until the insurance adjuster has taken pictures, so I'm driving around in a really ghetto car right now! It's pretty bad, but at least it's drivable.

The Maundy Thursday service was last night, and it was amazing! That service is always kind of a crap shoot; it doesn't matter how well you prepare for it, sometimes it's an incredible evening and sometimes, eh, not so much. But it was Fred's last MT service with us, so I'm glad it turned out to be a good one. More about that later.

I'm in the middle of Pagliacci rehearsals and having a lot of fun with it. The supers are a great bunch and the rehearsals fly by. We're in the theater next week, and I can't wait. I'm busy casting lightwalkers and opera shop people, so if you're interested...

I also cast the supers in this production, and it was a lot more difficult than I'd imagined! People not returning calls, people trying to arrange their schedules, people that had to drop out...plus I was casting a family, so I had to find people that vaguely looked alike. Not easy. Plus all the parts had age requirements. Jen and I began raiding the Opera Camp resumes and found a couple of kids from there.

Friends were emailing me asking if they could be in it, and I felt badly having to say no. I wish I could have cast everyone!

I'm planning and dreaming about my trip...in three weeks!!! It'll be the first vacation I've taken in two years. I don't know what happened to me...I used to take two-week trips all the time. I traveled absolutely everywhere; it was a huge part of who I was! I lost that traveling part of me somewhere along the way, but I'm dragging it back and I'm thrilled about finally being able to pack a suitcase again! I can't wait. I bought a couple of new outfits (which I always do before a trip), I've booked the kennel, and I've gotten the time off work. I'm ready to go!!!

Other than that, not much going on in my life. Same old, same old. Oh wait, hello, my house got a makeover! I really need to take some pictures and post them. It's very Tuscan-looking and I love it.

Have a nice Good Friday!
