Easter Weekend

I had the longest week last week, what with rehearsals and the Maundy Thursday service! I was so thrilled with the prospect of a weekend that I flew out of the office on Friday and made it home in record time. I even - joy! - had enough time for a quick shower before rehearsal. The day just kept getting better! I was so happy I sang from the moment I left work until I pulled up to rehearsal. Of course, everything was to the tune of "O Fortuna":

I have to go / I have to go / I have a re-eee-hearsal

Are you hungry? / Are you hungry? / I will feed yoooou riiiight now

UPS guy! / UPS guy! / Package on myyyy dooorstep...

Anyway, the weekend turned out to be pretty nondescript. I went to my parent's house for a couple of hours on Easter. Jean's Potatoes are always worth getting up for. No Easter basket this year, but so goes life as an adult...!

Bill suggested going to one of his favorite restaurants after rehearsal on Friday...Nick's Italian. Bill says it's the best pizza anywhere. And we had a ton of calamari and wine before dinner even showed up at the table, which capped the rehearsal pretty nicely!

And now we're in tech week, which is always a little exciting, a little frustrating, a little exhausting, and again, a little exciting. I have rehearsal every night except for last night, and I spent that fun evening at the dentist. Yep, the whole evening. For some reason the novocain took hours to wear off...I was still talking funny at midnight! But the dentist has a large collection of current romantic comedies (? why, I'm not sure), so it gives me a chance to catch up on my Reese Witherspoon movies. This time it was "Sweet Home Alabama."

I swear, ten years from now I'll look at Reese Witherspoon, and still see a dentist drill.
