I decided that...well, it's been two months since I updated this...it's about darn time!
My life in the past two months has been a combo of crazy-busy and same-old.
My vacation was great! Northern California is so incredibly beautiful, and while getting back to my house and my cat was nice, I really miss the weather and the sights in NoCal. I miss watching otters play in the Monterey Bay!
I'll probably post a run-down of the trip in the near future. In the meantime, there are plenty of pictures in the Gallery to satisfy your curiosity.
I've been working on remodeling my bathroom, which is the last room in the house to be fixed up! It was SO COOL to finally get rid of that paisley wallpaper. I painted everything wedgwood blue, and sponged a darker blue on top for some texture. It looks awesome!! I need to finish painting the cabinets and finish painting the tops of the walls. A plumber came in and installed a new sink faucet, new shower knobs, and a new shower head...it's one of those huge "waterfall" ones! Pretty darn cool.
I'm waiting (and waiting...) for the contractor man to get his butt over here and install the baseboards. Not having a miter saw, nail gun, etc., I thought, "Oh, it'll be so much easier to have someone come over and do it for me." Hmm. Will he ever decide to show up?? I'm sort of stuck with a half-finished bathroom until he does his thang.
Anyway, enough bathroom talk.
For the last 3 months I've been studying for the State Appraisal Exam and USPAP (no, it isn't a dirty word) Exam. That's right, just call me Appraiser Lesley! I sort of flaked around for the first month or so, though, and had to kick the studying into high gear. I'm at the point where I'm studying for 3 hours or so every night, and I'm up at 5:00 to put another hour in. Not to mention my lunch hour. So it's an awful lot of work and I still have maybe a month to go, but hopefully I'll be able to pass the exams on the first try. (It's like the bar exam; you just keep taking it until you pass!)
It's my birthday this weekend! I have no idea what I'm doing (well, except studying, of course). Ron's busy that night (he's doing a show), and I can't find anyone that can go out to dinner. I would go to the show, but I can't get tickets! What?? Opera Pacific never sells out for anything! Grrr...
I took off tomorrow afternoon so that Ron and I could go to my favorite restaurant for dinner, but found out later that Ron has rehearsal that night, so I told my boss I could work after all. "Great," he says, "now you can go to our all-day offsite meeting!" Aaaahh! Will I never learn?? Take the time off and run with it, girl!!
Well, that's my life right now in a nutshell. Actually, no it isn't quite...I didn't even get into Project FF, my new gym, or the fun stuff my doctor's told me recently. Oh yes, we'll save those gems for another time...
